  • Geography: Costa Rica is situated in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east. It features diverse landscapes, including rainforests, mountains, volcanoes, and beautiful coastlines.
  • Capital and Major Cities: San José is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica. Other major cities include San Pedro, Alajuela, and Heredia.
  • Language: Spanish is the official language of Costa Rica. English is also widely spoken, especially in tourist areas.
  • Population: As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Costa Rica had a population of around 5 million people. The population is diverse, with people of European, Indigenous, African, and other ethnic backgrounds.
  • Government: Costa Rica is a democratic republic with a stable political system. It has a long-standing tradition of political stability and is often referred to as the “Switzerland of Central America.”
  • Economy: Costa Rica’s economy is diversified and includes agriculture, tourism, technology, and manufacturing. It has a strong focus on environmental sustainability and ecotourism. The country is also known for its exports of coffee, bananas, and pineapples.
